2. General Provisions

2.1. This Privacy Policy (hereinafter — "Policy") defines the general principles, purposes, procedures and conditions of processing Users' personal data by the Operator.

2.2. The Policy has been developed in compliance with the requirements of Federal Law No. 152-FZ dated 27.07.2006 "On Personal Data" (hereinafter — No. 152-FZ).

2.3. The App is built on the open-source code of Telegram, license: GNU General Public License v2.0.

2.4. All Content (messages, contacts, channels, groups) is processed by Telegram servers under Telegram's terms. The Operator does not process or store the User's messages, contacts or other Content, except for data explicitly described in sections 5 and 6 of this Policy.

2.5. By authorizing and using the App, the User consents to the processing of their personal data under the terms of this Policy.

2.6. Personal data processing is carried out by the Operator on the territory of the Russian Federation.

2.7. The Operator reserves the right to amend the Policy. The updated version takes effect upon publication.

2.8. In accordance with No. 152-FZ, the User has the right to:

  • access their personal data;
  • obtain information regarding the processing of their personal data;
  • request correction, blocking or destruction of personal data;
  • take measures provided by law to protect their rights.

3. Purposes of Personal Data Processing

The Operator processes personal data for the following purposes:

  • ensuring App functionality and device registration;
  • providing AI features (processing requests, generating and enhancing images);
  • token accounting and transaction processing;
  • confirming ownership of the Telegram account for access to paid features;
  • providing and servicing the Subscription: payment verification, renewal, cancellation, refunds, purchase restoration, AI quota accounting;
  • determining User location for proper connection routing (proxy);
  • displaying advertising materials;
  • ensuring security and preventing fraud;
  • improving App quality based on usage statistics;
  • communicating with Users for notifications and handling inquiries;
  • fulfilling obligations under the laws of the Russian Federation.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

4.1. The Operator processes personal data with the consent of the personal data subject.

4.2. Upon achieving the processing purposes or upon withdrawal of consent, personal data shall be destroyed, unless otherwise provided by an agreement between the Operator and the User.

5. Categories of Personal Data

The Operator may collect and process the following data:

5.1. Device Data

Device identifier, model, operating system version, system language — for device registration and ensuring proper App functionality.

5.2. Account Data

Telegram user identifier (tgUserId), Telegram name and username, Telegram Premium status, country (determined by SIM card or IP address), registration date, App settings, and referral information if the User joined by another user's invitation.

5.3. Account Confirmation Data

On first sign-in, the App subscribes the User to the TG news channel on the User's behalf and starts the @tgai_appbot bot — a chat with it appears in the chat list. Through this bot, the App confirms once that the account belongs to the User: it obtains the User's profile data signed by Telegram (including the identifier, name and username), and the Operator verifies the signature and that the identifier matches. The confirmation itself sends no messages (starting the bot sends it the standard /start command); the Operator uses only the identifier from this data, for the check, and does not store the data itself.

So that confirmation is not repeated on later sign-ins on the same device, the device receives a secret key; the Operator stores only its hash. Confirmation is required for the Subscription and some AI features.

5.4. Geolocation Data

The User's country is determined by IP address using the MaxMind GeoLite2 database for connection routing (proxy server selection) and displaying relevant advertising. Precise coordinates (GPS) are not collected by the Operator.

5.5. AI Feature Data

When using AI features, the Operator processes:

  • text messages and images sent to the AI assistant;
  • images submitted for AI enhancement;
  • voice messages submitted for recognition;
  • chat messages the User selects for a summary (sender name and message text);
  • text the User asks to rewrite (including in a different tone), fix or translate;
  • AI conversation history (stored on the Operator's servers).

Messages for summaries and text for writing help are used only to fulfil the request and are not stored on the Operator's servers. AI conversation history is stored for the duration of App use; the User can delete their AI conversations through the App. Upon account deletion, all AI data is destroyed.

5.6. Transaction Data

Token balance (free and paid), token operation history (charges, credits, top-ups), type of AI feature used. For token purchases with Telegram Stars — data from Telegram's payment notification, including the payer's identifier, name and username.

5.7. Subscription Data

When the User subscribes to and uses the Subscription, the Operator processes:

  • the payment method (App Store, Google Play or Telegram Stars) and the selected plan;
  • purchase and payment identifiers assigned by the app store or Telegram;
  • the dates the Subscription started, renewed and ends, the auto-renewal status, cancellation and refund information;
  • the payment amount and currency and the country of the app store account — to the extent the app store or Telegram provides them;
  • app store and Telegram notifications about purchases, renewals, cancellations and refunds — to reconcile payments;
  • for payments with Telegram Stars — data from Telegram's payment notification, including the payer's identifier, name and username;
  • Subscription AI quota usage for the billing period (speech recognition time, number of summaries and writing-help requests).

Payments are processed by Apple, Google or Telegram. The Operator does not receive or store bank card data or other payment details. To link an App Store or Google Play purchase to the account, the App passes the store a random purchase identifier; the phone number, name and Telegram identifier are not passed to the store.

Payment records are kept for as long as needed to account for payments and handle inquiries and refunds, and for the periods required by the laws of the Russian Federation.

5.8. Ad Impression Data

The fact of ad display, ad identifier, display time — for statistics and ad selection.

5.9. The Operator does not collect or process biometric data.

5.10. All data is provided personally by the User or generated automatically during App use.

6. Data Processing for AI Features

6.1. To provide AI features, the Operator transmits User data to third-party AI service providers. Currently these are:

  • Hangzhou DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence Co., Ltd. (People's Republic of China) — AI chat, message summaries, writing help, text requests for AI photo enhancement. Platform terms: deepseek.com.
  • Alibaba Cloud (Singapore) Private Limited (Singapore), Qwen models — AI photo enhancement, recognition of images sent to the AI assistant, and text requests when the main provider is unavailable. Privacy policy: alibabacloud.com.
  • Groq LLC (USA) — voice message recognition. Privacy policy: groq.com/privacy-policy.

The Operator may replace an AI service provider or engage another one (for example, OpenAI, Inc. or Anthropic, PBC, USA); the current list is given in this section.

6.2. Only data directly necessary to fulfill the request is transmitted: message text, image or audio recording, and for a summary — the sender names and texts of the selected messages. Account personal data (identifier, phone number) is not transmitted to AI providers.

6.3. AI request data is processed by AI providers in accordance with their own privacy policies. The Operator is not responsible for data processing by AI providers after transmission.

6.4. AI service providers are located outside the Russian Federation. By using AI features, the User consents to the cross-border transfer of the data specified in clause 6.2 to these providers.

7. Connection Routing (Proxy)

7.1. To ensure stable connectivity, the App may automatically route traffic through the Operator's proxy servers. In this case, the User's IP address passes through the proxy server.

7.2. Proxy servers do not store the content of transmitted data. The connection between the App and Telegram servers is encrypted using the MTProto protocol.

8. Transfer of Personal Data to Third Parties

8.1. The Operator does not transfer personal data to third parties, except in the following cases:

  • transfer of data to AI service providers for AI request processing (section 6);
  • payment processing by payment service providers, including Apple (App Store), Google (Google Play) and Telegram (Telegram Stars) for Subscription payments (clause 5.7);
  • transfer of data to third-party services embedded in the App (section 9);
  • compliance with the requirements of Russian Federation legislation upon request of authorized government bodies.

9. Third-Party Services in the App

9.1. The App includes third-party services. They receive data directly from the User's device and process it under their own rules and privacy policies. The set of services depends on the platform and on where the App was installed from (Google Play, RuStore, the tgai.app website, the App Store); below they are listed by purpose. The set of services may change — the current list is given in this section.

9.2. Advertising

Advertising services are present in the Android and iOS versions. Ads are not shown to Users with an active Subscription.

  • Yandex Advertising (Yandex LLC) and, connected through it, VK Ads (myTarget) and myTracker (VK LLC) — in all Android and iOS versions;
  • AdsGram and GigaPub — ad networks for Telegram apps, in all Android and iOS versions;
  • CAS (Clever Ads Solutions) and the ad networks connected through it — in the Android version from Google Play and in the iOS version: AppLovin, Google AdMob, Meta Audience Network, Pangle, Mintegral, InMobi, Liftoff (Vungle), Bigo Ads, Moloco, Smaato, Start.io, Kidoz, Prado, Maticoo, ironSource (some networks are connected on one platform only).

Advertising services receive: the device advertising identifier (on Android — the Google Advertising ID, and if it is unavailable, GigaPub receives the Android ID device identifier; on iOS — the IDFA, only if the User has allowed tracking, otherwise the IDFV identifier), device model and operating system version, IP address, language, and data on ads shown and interactions with them. AdsGram and GigaPub also receive the Telegram user identifier. AdsGram additionally receives the Telegram Premium flag and technical device parameters: battery level and charging state, screen brightness, motion sensor readings (accelerometer and gyroscope). To pass the IP address to GigaPub, the App obtains it from the api.ipify.org service.

9.3. Analytics

AppMetrica (Yandex LLC) starts together with the Yandex advertising service in the Android and iOS versions. It collects device identifiers (advertising identifier, AppSetID, internal AppMetrica identifier), session and event data in the App, approximate location (country, city) by IP address, network connection type, and purchase and ad revenue data; on iOS, automatic crash collection in AppMetrica is turned off. Privacy policy: yandex.ru/legal/metrica_termsofuse.

The App sends its own usage statistics and crash reports to the Operator's servers.

9.4. Push Notifications

Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google LLC) — in the Android versions; Apple Push Notification service (Apple Inc.) — in the iOS version. The service receives the device token needed to deliver notifications.

9.5. Backup Connection Addresses

To connect despite blocking, the App obtains a list of the Operator's server addresses: on Android and in the desktop version (Windows, Linux) — via Firebase Remote Config (Google LLC), on iOS — via Apple CloudKit. Only technical request data (IP address, installation identifier) is passed to the service. Like Telegram, the App may look up Telegram servers via Google and Cloudflare DNS services and Telegram's own backup services.

9.6. App Stores and Payments

The Google Play version uses Google Play services: updates, install source information and Subscription payments (Google Play Billing). The RuStore version uses RuStore services: updates, install source information and install statistics. The iOS version pays for the Subscription through the App Store. Payments with Telegram Stars take place in Telegram (clause 5.7).

9.7. Telegram Features

The App is built on the Telegram source code and keeps its features that use third-party services and work the same way as in Telegram: sign-in checks (Google Play Integrity, SafetyNet and reCAPTCHA on Android, reCAPTCHA Enterprise on iOS), maps and location (Google Maps), message translation (Google Translate on Android and macOS — at the User's request), and payments in Telegram bots (Stripe; Google Pay on Android).

9.8. The desktop versions of the App (Windows, Linux, macOS) contain no third-party advertising or analytics services.

9.9. The User may send requests about data processed by third-party services directly to their owners, using the contacts in their privacy policies. For Yandex LLC services:

  • Address: 16 Lva Tolstogo St., Moscow, 119021, Russia
  • E-mail: privacy@yandex-team.ru
  • Privacy policy: yandex.ru/legal/confidential

10. Data Update, Deletion and Destruction

10.1. The User can obtain information about the processing of their personal data, as well as request modification or deletion, by contacting the Operator via the Telegram support bot: @tgai_supportbot.

10.2. The Operator responds to inquiries within 10 business days. The period may be extended by no more than 5 business days with notification to the User.

10.3. Upon account deletion, all User personal data, including AI conversations and transaction history, is destroyed, except payment records, which are kept for the periods required by the laws of the Russian Federation (clause 5.7). Deleting the account does not cancel the Subscription: it must be cancelled in the App Store, Google Play or Telegram (see the Terms of Service).

11. Personal Data Protection Measures

11.1. The Operator takes the necessary legal, organizational and technical measures to protect personal data from unauthorized access, destruction, modification, blocking, copying, distribution and other unlawful actions.

11.2. Measures include:

  • appointing a person responsible for personal data processing;
  • implementing technical information security measures;
  • controlling access to personal data;
  • detecting and preventing unauthorized access;
  • regular audits of data processing compliance with No. 152-FZ requirements.

12. Cookies

12.1. The Operator's website (tgai.app) may use technical cookies for proper functioning.

12.2. The App does not use cookies.

13. Contact Information

For questions regarding personal data processing, the User may contact the Operator:
